2016 Goals

Unlike most, I'm not going to regroup on past monthly or yearly goals.  I know I didn't accomplish them, and I'm not going to sit here and make excuses as to why.  2015 was a year of slacking and excuses.  2016 will be different.

My word of the year is Confidence.  Secondary words are strength, calm, belief.

Here are my goals, followed by a picture recap of 2015:

1. Weigh 130 lbs. or less.
2. Run a mile in 9:00 or less.
3. Run a 5k in 30:00 or less.
4. Run a 10k in 1:15 or less.
5. Run a half in 3:00 or less.
6. Do a headstand for 15 seconds or more.
7. Do wheel pose on forearms instead of hands.
8. Do crow pose for 10 seconds or more.
9. Squat 200 lbs. or more for 5 or more reps.
10. Deadlift 150 lbs. or more for 5 or more reps.
1. Maintain a 3.5 GPA or higher.
2. Try new things (So far, I have riding a bike.  Please let me know if you have any suggestions to add!)
3. Pay off at least 25% of my debt.  Current at (don’t judge me…) $1740.
4. Read at least 6 non-school books.
Half Marathons (this is Skidaway Half in April)
Sister's first half!
Maine in July
Family vacation
Student teaching
Honor Society Induction (KDP and NSLS)
RnR Savannah Weekend
Lots of margaritas
Final half of the year (Space Coast)
4 Christmas celebrations
And a Happy New Year (and another family vacation)

I'm linking up with PattyErika, and Marcia for this year's first Tuesdays on the Run!

What's your big resolution?

  1. Really fun pictures from the past year! You've got great goals that definitely look achievable! One of my running goals is to complete my first marathon. I'm so excited!

    1. Thanks! I take far too many pictures haha.

Good luck with your marathon! I want to do one, but I'm not quite ready just yet =)

  2. I've had getting under 130 on my list for so long now . . . I get so close! But it also took me years to get to my present goal weight, so I'm patient. :)

I'm shooting for a 31 5k -- if you can do 30, then you'll have the other goals in the bag, because I can do a 10k & half within your goals.

Crow -- yeah, I struggle with that and let's not even get into the headstand, which was one of my goals for last year that totally fell by the wayside.

    1. 30 min. 5k is probably my most difficult running goal up there =) and I'm hoping with a combination of both more yoga and strength training, I can get both!

  3. Great goals! Love all of your pictures. And you can totally hit a half in 3 hours if you start hitting all those other times. I hear you on the weight loss - so far I've lost the "Christmas pounds" now I'm working on the 2015 marathons' pounds, then I have to knock off the 2014 "run all the miles" pounds. Then I'll be back where I want to be - ~9 pounds to go.

    1. Good luck! I understand the last few are always the hardest.

  4. You are adorable! I know I wanted to finish a marathon- that was my big resolution this year! HA!

    1. Thank you!! <3

And congrats! Many people can't check off their biggest resolution less than a month into the year =P
