The theme of this week's link-up is mantras.
Thinking about it, I realized I don't have a technical mantra. Most are short and sweet phrases that people repeat over and over again.
My main way of pushing myself through things is to tell myself that I can do anything for just one minute. Since I do run walk intervals of a minute each, I just have to run for one minute at a time. In power yoga, we don't usually hold poses for a long time, so I usually have to power through for less than a minute. If I take things just a minute at a time, it makes them much more bearable.
How do you get through hard workouts?

That's great one. Because like you said, it's only a minute and anyone can do anything for a minute! I need to remember this one when I'm struggling at the end of a run. ~L
ReplyDeleteIt usually helps! =)
DeleteI've used that one a LOT! I can do anything for one minute. Although that minute feels like about a year when I'm holding a plank (I hate planks!). Thanks for linking up with us this week! :)
ReplyDeleteYes, it definitely does feel longer than a minute!
DeleteThanks for giving me a topic =)
That is a great idea! I usually tell myself 'just keep going' or 'almost there' if I am closer to the end of the run!
ReplyDeleteThe problem is when I start struggling at the beginning. Then that doesn't work so well! =P
DeleteThat's a great one. I often tell myself I can run for at least .1 mile more. I once did a 10 mile run where I started repeating that at the beginning LOL. Thanks for linking up. Next week we are talking about fueling our runs. Hope you join us again.
